A little controversy over at HuffPo. I was asked to choose some of my personal faves from my book of 50. The site then lopped off one and titled it “Nine Best Rolling Stones Songs.” Well, you can imagine the fallout! I mean, any limited list is going to stir up trouble in comment land, that’s the purpose even. But this was oddly arbitrary. Indeed, Binky Phillips wrote his own post on the same site, and somehow was able to write about 40. Never mind that a bunch of his were actually covers by the Stones of other acts like Buddy Holly, the Beatles, and Bo Diddley. It is a fine list. Hopefully this will just draw more attention for the book.
